I listen to talk shows
Almost every night
Sometimes from midnight
To dawns early light.
The radio by my bed
Is set to a station
That gives me the news
Throughout the nation.
Ten minutes of every hour
News and commercials I hear.
Then comes the part I enjoy;
Guests from far and near.
Aliens, abductions and OBE’S,
Time travel, ghosts and ufos.
Remote viewing, other things
Shadow people? Even those.
Did we come from Mars?
Or was it Atlantis?
It’s interesting to hear
What people think it is.
Our government is controlled
By aliens from other worlds
Or, if not that, those
Who want to have one world.
Physicists, astronomers,
Scientists of every kind
Are available on talk shows
To help make up my mind.
Conspiracies? These abound
On the night time talk shows.
If there is any truth at all
I doubt if anyone really knows.
But it’s fun to hear these things
As I lay awake at night.
It’s the daytime news
That really gives me a fright!
