Oh, My!
What can I write about?
A pretty spring day
Or a can of sauerkraut?

Now thats an idea
It might be rather fun
To write a poem about kraut.
Something probably never done.

But what is there I could say
About this funny stuff?
To say that it is rotten cabbage
Isn’t quite enough.

Kraut is pretty tasty
When eaten from the can.
But it is a lot better
When warmed in a pan.

It is also good with other things
That I wouldn’t like to try
Preparing onions to be stuffed
Would probably make me cry.

Sauerkraut dates from way back
According to the Joy of Cooking Book.
In two hundred B.C. it was prepared
By a Chinese cook.

Well, it's probably not a good idea
To write a poem about sauerkraut.
I really would rather not write at all,
It's such a pretty day out.

Oh, My.
What can I write about?
This pretty spring day
With all the flowers out?
