Hey, it’s raining!
What’s that?, you say.
Well, it’s water from heaven
Not seen here for many a day.

Gentle Rain, Wonderful Rain!
The kind we really need.
I suppose soon we will complain
But now it’s nice, indeed.

I went walking in the rain
Years ago for fun.
Now when I get caught In a shower
I mostly start to run.

But this rain we’re having now
Isn’t one that’s pours.
So it’s sort of nice to walk along
And see what’s going on outdoors.

I saw a chicken on this walk.
As black as he could be.
When a raindrop hit his head
He ran to find some safety.

A squirrel I stopped to visit with
Didn’t have much to say.
He looked at me a little while
And then went on his busy way.

People waved at me and said
“Como esta?” or “Howdy Do?”
I waved right back with a
“Bien, Gracias” or “Same to you”.

Hey, It’s Raining!
What’s that? you say.
It’s just a very good excuse
To go outside and play!
