Every month I sit and think
About what kind of poem to write.
It gets harder every time
To find an answer to my plight.
Sometimes, as you well know,
I cheat just a little bit
By using once again one I wrote
That I personally thought to be a hit.
I like the one about the tree
That was in my hometown park.
And the one about the butterfly and rabbit
Who chased each other just for a lark.
There is also the one about the swing
That many people seemed to like
And the one about a Christmas gift
I got when just a little tyke.
But recycling can go just so far
So I have to sit and think
About what kind of poem I can write
That won’t just completely stink.
And then it hits me all at once.
I really don’t have to write a thing!
I have a program in my computer
That generates poems with an original ring.
So here I present to you
For better or for worse
Some examples of what can be done
With computer generated verse
The girl you left behind
A dancer smiles at the moon
a quiet sky;
jhs
Tells you not to smile
She’s interfering with your work
You suddenly feel like giving up
The only gift you can offer is pain.
His ugliness fascinates you
And you aren’t sure who you are
This night is too beautiful too waste
in a sparkling breeze
a moon has stopped
