We stopped from time to time
To take a picture or sit a while
And watch the people wander past;
Some dressed in such funny style.
There were so many pretty places
For me to picture take
And you especially liked
The views of the lovely lake.
We neared the end of our walk
In a bamboo thicket.
For a fisherman, I said
This would be just the ticket.
I asked if you had been kissed
In a thicket of bamboo.
You said no you hadn't.
Well, now that is not true.
I kissed you in the bamboo thicket
I think I did it twice.
I've kissed you in other places
But here it was especially nice.
We continued along the flowered paths,
Still walking hand in hand.
It had been something very special
To kiss you in the bamboo stand.
