HERE'S A RITIN FRUM

For DECEMBER 2004

Hi, evrybudy!

This is Old Bear ritin agin and I'm goin to tell you about the cruze we went on in Novembur.

Saturday nite my man got all the dishes washed and our house sort of cleaned up and his bags packed for our trip and we got up real early Sunday morning to be ready when Miss Elizabeth cum to get us. She wus goin on the cruze too sew sed she wuld take us to the church where we were all goin to meet. She wus right on time and we were ready sew we were almost the first ones to get to the church wen it was still dark.

After maybe 30 or 20 minutes of waitin in the dark the bus cum to pick us up and the bus was already about half full with peoples who had cum from another town to go with us. But we got good seats in the back of the bus 4 the ryde down to Galveston where the ship was parked. It tuk Mr. June, the bus driver, who wus a reel gud driver, about 5 hours to drive to Galveston and we stopped two times for a rest stop. We had to go to a big barn like thing to do sumpn called `check in' and that tuk maybe an hour cus there were lots of people and we were all being checked 2 see that we weren't bad peoples. I got to ryde through another pitcher taking machine. That's always fun.

Wen we got checked in we culd find our staterooms and then go look around the ship. This ship was named The Rhapsody of the Sea and it wus the same one I cruzed on 2 years ago sew there wus lots of things I remembered. My man sed he wus glad it wus the same ship cus he membered how to go places in it. But he still got lost a lot.

The ship left Galveston at 5 pm, and we were out in the Gulf of Mexico about the time we were eatin dinner at 6:00.

The furst thing we had 2 du the next day after we finished eatin breakfast was to have a lifeboat drill. When the horn blew 7 short times and 1 long time everyone had to put on their life vests and go to their mustard station. Our mustard station was number 12 on Deck 5. Our room wus on deck 2. Wen we got 2 the mustard station a man told everyone wat they were supposed 2 du in case the ship started sinkin. Here is a pitcher of my man in his life vest.

These two are of passengers at the mustard station.

Before the day wus over a lot of peoples thought they were goin to have to use their life vests cus the oshun wus reel rough and the ship wus sort of bouncing around and it wus hard to walk and pretty many passenjers got sea sick. Me and my man were lucky that we didn't get seasick or fall down. It wus sort of like ridin in a roller coaster.

We were on the Rhapsody of the Sea from Sunday to the next Sunday and I don't member zactly what we did each day cept my man tuk me to eat with him most every time. Course I don't ever eat but there sure wus a lot of things for my man and the others to eat. Mostly we ate our meals in the main dining room on deck 4 but sumtymes we went to deck 9 where there wus a big buffet. My man sed that wus wear he culd eat all he wanted and it didn't cost nothing. Cept soda pops cost $1.50.

We ate in the upstairs dinin room for most of our meals and here is wat the downstairs dinin rum looked like and wat the lady who brot our food luked like.

Tuesday wus a dressup tyme sew I got to wear my tuxedo wen I went to meet Captain Charles again. Here I am with Miss Brenda who introduced us to Captain Charles wen we went through sumpn called a receiving line.

Everybudy who met Mr. Charles could get their pitcher took with him. Here's the pitcher that got tuk in 2002 and the one that wus tuk this tyme.

Capt Charles sed he membered me from the last trip cus I had my pitcher taken with him holdin me. Capt Charles sed that this wuld be his last time driving The Rhapsody of the Sea cus he wus goin to go drive another big ship.

Most everybudy who went on this cruze was sort of disappointed when we heard that there wuld be a tinerary change. Evrybudy thought we would be going to Georgetown, Grand Cayman but the big hurricane had messed everything up and big ships weren't going there. So the tinerary wuz from Galveston to Key West, Florida then to Costa Maya, Mexico instead of Georgetown, then to Cozumel, Mexico and then back to Galveston. My man didn't want to go on any scursions when we Were stopped sew we just got off the ship for a couple of hours and went shopping with Miss Elizabeth. He bought me a purty pin on the ship that sed Rhapsody of the Sea on it and he bought me another one in Cozumel and he bought himself a pretty red cap there too. Miss Elizabeth bought sum things to give to her fambly & sum frends for Christmas time.

My man didn't take no pitchers when we were in Key West or Cozomel but here are a few he tuk in Costa Maya:

This is the purty lady who sold my man my new pin and his red hat.

He tuk these pitchers wen we were walkin back to the ship. The little red boat is a party boat. Our ship is next and then the real big one parked next to ours is The Radiance of the Sea.

There were a lot of things for peoples to do when we were on the sea. The swimmin pool on Deck 9 was purty popular and we sat there and watched peoples quite a lot. Here are sum of the peoples who were there one day when a kitchen man was doin an ice carving.

There was a 30 foot high climbing wall on Deck 10 for those who wanted to climb and a runnin place for those peoples who liked to walk or run. But jist sittin in the lounges listening to pretty music and lukin out the windows or visiting with peples who cum by and asked my man to tell them all about me wus lots of fun too. Sorta like I'm doin here.

One night Miss Elizabeth and my man danced to some purty band music.

There wus some sort of a program every night like a majikin and singing and dancing and joke tellers and there wus sumpn kalled a casino wear peoples went to play machines that mostly tuk their money They had sum late nite dinners, too. We jist went to one and then didn't stay and eat but jist luked around. Wat the kitchen people did was reel purty with all the fancy food decorations and the artist stuff. Here is a cowboy made out of chocolate and a mermaid made of lard. There wus more chocolate and lard statues and sum ice sculptures too.

The attendants who cum to our rum each day and made it nice and clean always left a piece of chocolate candy for my man and made sumthing out of towels to put on the bed.

I liked the monkey hanging frum the coat hanger the bestust but they were all fun. My man thought about bringing the monkey home with us but decided he better not.

We had to get up real early on the last day so the crew culd begin cleaning the ship cus there wuld be 2000 more peoples get on when we got off. It tuk pretty long to do what is called disembarking cus we had 2 go through immigration first and then wait sumplayce until our color wus kalled. They had give us diffurnt colors of tags to put on our suitcases and ours was gray. Sew we culdn't get off until it was time for the gray people to go.

Mr. June wus there to meet us with his bus rite on time and we got back to Dallas about 4:30. I shure had a gud tyme and my man sez maybe we cn go on another cruze in 2006. BYE!
