HERE'S A RITIN FRUM

For NOVEMBER 2005

Hi, Evrybudy!

This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin and this month I can tell u abowt the two trips I tuk with my man since the last tyme I rote a ritin 2 U.

On the first trip we went with Miss Faye to two playces. The first playce we went to wus Southwestern Medical School's North Campus. This is a almost brand new, real big building where lots of peoples go to lern how to be doctors or lern how to do better doctor things or do sumpn called "research!.

A real nice lady met us wear we went in to say Howdy 2 us and show us wat elevators to take to the building floor wear we were going to start touring. Another reel nyce lady met us there. Here' s her pitcher with two of her helpers.

This big building has lots of windows and from way high up like we were we could see a whole lot of downtown Dallas My man tuk these pitchers from pretty high up and you can see sum of downtown Dallas and one of the students studying abowt two floors down below.

Our guide lady tuk us on a walk through a lot of the building and showed us all the pretty paintings and the furniture designed by a famous arkitect and where the students ate their lunches and a hole lot of other places. It shure wus a purty building; reely bright and clean.

After we had our tour of the building we went to the special dining room for guests and had our gud lunch. It wus wat is called a buffet but it sure tasted gud. You know I don't eat very much sew mostly I jist sat on the floor under the table so I wuldn't be in the way.

After evrybudy had eaten their lunch and went to the bathroom two other ladies cum to take care of us. We were busted up into 2 grups and went to where the labatories were where they do sum of their resurch work. But firstest we sort of pretended we were students learning sumpn frum one of the tooters.

The first tooter we visited wus Mr. Philip, a professor who told us about researchin the things that maybe cause Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. He rote sum scientific stuff on his blackboard, cept it was a wite bord, not black. I pretended to understand all the things he said and rote but he sure used sum big words.

The next tooter was a lady professor who was doin research on muscles. She told us jist wat happens wen we stretch or bebd our arms and legs and how sum peoples can't du it cus of havin sum muscle problums. She did sum ritin on a wite blackbord too.

Then this lady professor tuk us to the laboratory wear she is duin research things and told us all about sum of the kompewters and things that she uses. Here's her pitcher standin in tbe laboratory talkin 2 us.

We got to walk all thru the laboratories and there were sure a lot of peoples workin there. Most evrybody we saw were purty yung peoples and a lot of them were frum China or Korea or places like that.

After we did the tourin of Southwest Medical Center we all got back in the coach and tuk another ride to DFW airport wear I've been before but this tyme I didn't get 2 go on an airplayne. We jist went thre 2 C the new terminal D. That is where playnes frum all over the world will be cumin to land and take off cus that is the nu International terminal.

Terminal D is really nice and clean and brite, probly cus it wus a reel nu terminal an lot's of peoples hadn't been there yet. We walked a long way seein things and the bestest thing I saw was this security man on this 2 weel thing that I think is caled a segway. He culd move it all around jist by leaning in different directions. He showed me and my man how it wurked and it sure would be fun to have one of them.

After we walked all over Terminal D we went to see FIRE STATION FIVE. The firemen are there 2 du regular fireman`s wurk but they know wat 2 du if an airplayne crashes at DFW airport. One of the station 5 firemen tuk us all around and showed us how they get signaled to go to a fire and wear they live at the fire house and stuff lyke that. I wanted 2 C one of the poles they slide down on, but the fireman sed they don't do that any more.

Miss Elizabeth tuk this pitcher of me and my man and the fireman who wus showing us everything.

It sure wus a gud trip to Southwestern Medical Center and DFW Terminal D and Fire Station Number Five.

I guess maybe it wus a week later wen I went with my man's church group on a Travul Ministry trip to a playce called Roseland Plantation. It tuk us maybe 3 hours to go there with maybe 40 peoples. and it wus a real nyce playce to go. Here's Miss Margaret and Miss Jimmy wen we were startin on the tour trip.

Roseland wus a reel wurkin plantation one tyme and now it is sumpn called a Bed & Breakfast. We got there in tyme 2 have a reely gud lunch and then went on a tour of the Plantation that wus led by the man who owns it now.

Here's sum of the pitchers my man tuk on this trip to Roseland Plantation.

This is the big house where we ate our lunch and sum of us in one of the dining rums. There were 3 small dining rooms and 1 reel big one 4 us to eat in.

After eatin our lunch we walked all thru the house lukin at all the antique things. Then we went out and walked all around the grounds lukin at other things. There wus a small chapel where evrybudy, includin the slave peoples used 2 cum to church. Here's a pitcher of the chapel and sumpn reel pretty that wus just inside the chapel. My man culdn't get the pitcher of the big painting of Mr. Jesus that wus inside the church. Wen a persun walked by it u culd see his eyes and his feet movin.

I got 2 sit in this old tymey surrey with a fringe on top. That wus fun.

We went inside a big barn place 2 C wat a man sed wus an exact duplicate of the famous Last Supper painting. The barn had special lights and special air conditioner jist cus of the paintin.

Purty soon it wus tyme to leave Roseland and cum back to Dallas sew we all got back in the coach 4 the ride back. On the way out we got 2 C the little house wear the people who own the big house live.

It wus a gud thing the two trips we tuk kame at the time they did cus they were over before it wuz tyme to go work at the State fair of Texus like we always du. We go out and work at the Jane Douglas Chapter of the DAR. I only went 1 tyme; my man went 3 tymes and evrybudy asked wear I wus those 2 days. My man didn't take many pitchers but he sed I shuld sho U these:

The DAR House wear we wurk
Sum Aztec dancers frum San Antonio
Dancers who cum frum West, Texus.
Doin a Czech dance. A blacksmith Miss Benny, the boss lady at the DAR, and Miss Elizabeth countin people with a clicker thing.

Next trip I'm goin 2 take is to Ft. Wurth 2 C wear they make money. I shure hope they have samples to give away.
