Hi, everybudy!This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin and the pitcher is of me sittin on a sofa in Ilnoyze with my bestust frends dog named Shelby. That's the dog's name. My bestust frend's name is Samantha and this other pitcher wus tuk in 1994 when Sam wus only 15. She is sittin in the middle between her momma, Miss Pat, and her daddy, Mr. Paul. Her big sister Emily is holdin Shelby and her little sister is Carolyn who paints pitchers.
Sam is all grown up now and in May she commensurated from Taylor University with sumpn called a Bachelor of Arts in English Secondary Education. She sent us a nouncement of her graduation but we culdn't go. I sure am proud that she is goin 2 B a skool teacher. My man thot he wuld lyke 2 B a skool teacher once but he did sumpn kalled praktice teachin and the little kids skared him and the boss teacher made him stay after skool and praktice ritin on the blakbord so that's how kum he learned how 2 du kompewter stuff instead.
It's a purty inturestin story how Samantha becum my bestust frend. It all started wen my Aunt Mary sent my man a magzine about old timey stuff. Well, one night my man wus lukin at this magzine and he sed sumpn lyke Old Bear here is a letter in this old timey thing magazine that a young girl in Ilnoyze rote. She sed that she wants to get letters frum Senior Citizens. Why don't U rite 2 her cus U R a senior citizen cus U R over 65 and that will give U gud praktice in ritin. My man wus kiddin me but I thought it wuld be fun cus maybe if I rote her a letter she wuld rite me one bak and that wuld be fun cus in those days I never did get no mail.
Well the letter 2 the old timey magazine wus frum Samantha and she wus maybe 14 or 13 then, I have a hard tyme membering things. I wrote her a letter sayin who I was and told her I wus a purty old teddy bear who never got 2 go 2 skool so didn't no how 2 rite 2 gud but maybe she wuld lyke 2 rite 2 me. Well, by golly, she did rite bak and I rote her back and she rote me back and my man said now I had a pen pal. It sure wus fun getting letters and Sam sometimes wuld send me poums she had rote and my man put them in his magazine. And wen she got older and went to Germany 1 summer she rote me a letter frum there telling me all abowt wat she wus doin.
Then one day my man sed Old Bear we r goin 2 go 2 Ilnoyze 2 C your Aunt Mary and yur gramma and we r goin on the train and it goes rite through yur frend Samantha's town sew how wuld you lyke 2 stop and visit her? And that's wut we did. It shure wus fun to meet my pen pal and her momma and her daddy and her sisters and shelby the dog. We had such a gud tyme visitin that now every tyme we go to Ilnoyze we try to visit cept now Sam is usually off to skool studyin hard things sew she kan be a gud teacher. And Caroline is in kollege and Emily is a married lady. It shure makes me feel old to see peples grow up so fast. My man sez that is cus I am old.
My man sez that he is sure glad that I rote 2 Samantha cus she and her fambly has becum sorta lyke a second fambly 2 him.
I'm goin 2 tell Samantha that if she needs any help in skool teachin English she should let me know cus I'm purty gud at it now.
