Hi, evrybudy. This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin and I bet U think it's purty funny that here it is spring tyme and I'm showin U a pitcher of me wearing a big stockin cap and a nyce warm blanket. Well, I'm duin that cus I'm gettin ready 2 go 2 a playce where it is still purty kold. U no wear it is if u no that the song that is playin is called NORTH TO ALASKA. Yup, that's wear me and my man r goin 2 go in May.
My man sed 2 tel U that we aren't goin 2 du wat lots of peples du and take a romantical trip on a big boat thru sumpn kalled a passage and luk at wales and big pieces of ice kalled glaysirs. He sed that why we r goin 2 Alaska is 2 go to another Elderhostel study school sort of lyke we did in Guadalajara last year cept we won't be studyin no Mexican talk. This tyme we'll be listenin 2 story tellers tell us stories about the indian peples who lived where we will be back in old timey days and then sum reel smart peoples will teech us how cum alaska is bigger than Texus and abowt all the things they grow and make there and we'll go on sum walkin trips 2 learn how 2 tell diffurnt kinds of leaves and trees and flowers and maybe wat is good 2 eat if we get losted out in the woods. I hope we get 2 C sum bears and sum mooses and sum careaboos and lots of purty seenery. We are goin 2 B in an Alaska town named Soldotana and here's a pitcher map showin jist wear it is in Alaska.
How we r goin 2 get 2 Alaska is 2 go on a big ayrplane all the way frum here in Dallas 2 the Alaskaa town named Ankorage that U kan C at the top of the map and that is going 2 take a long tyme .. my man sez longer than flyin all the way to Londun in Englund. Then my man sez we have 2 get on a little ayrplayne that probly won't even give peenuts to fly from Ankorage to a little town named Kenai that is near wear we r goin. Sumbudy is supposed to meet us there 2 take us to our staying place. Here's a pitcher of wear we r goin 2 live 4 a hole week.
The wurds that kum with this pitcher sed that we will be seein sum eagles and lots of other birds and sum beavers chewing down trees and things lyke that. That shure will be fun cus here wear I live we don't hardly ever see anything like that cept once there was a turtle crawling through our yard goin sumplayce and another tyme there wus sumpn kalled a possum cum on our bak porch but mostly we don't get 2 c eagles and beavers and things like that. But we have got sum big black birds kalled grackles that I bet are most as big as eagles .. course I've never seen a real eagle cept in pitcher books and tv shows.
My man sez that if he lyked 2 go fishin this wuld be good playce 2 go fishin cus the readin stuff that we have been gettin frum everybudy abowt this part of Alaska is mostly about catchin salmon fishes and halibut fishes. Here' a pitcher of a big salmon fish that this boy caught.
I shure hope I get 2 c sumbudy katch a big old fish lyke that. But wat I want to know is how they get a salmon fish that big stuffed into a little kan lyke my man has in the kitchen.
Wen we get thru duin the lernin things we r goin 2 go bak 2 Ankorage on a little ayrplayne and go to a stayin playce 4 2 nights sew we will have tyme 2 du sumpn kalled the Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise. My man sez he don't know much abowt this cept it will be on a purty little boat. He wanted us 2 go for a ryde on an old timy airplayne but the airplayne peples in ankorage don't fly this old tymey ayrplane until after we are kumin bak home. Then he thot maybe it wuld be fun to go site seein in a helichopper but the helichopper peples sed there had 2 be at least 4 peples ridin. Sew he did sum internet lukin to find out abowt this krews thing. I bet that is goin 2 B fun.
I'm goin 2 B purty busy gettin ready 2 go north to Alaska sew won't be duin a ritin 4 U for May but wen I du the June ritin I'll tell you all abowt wat we did wen we were in Alaska.
