HERE'S A RITIN FRUM OLD BEAR

FOR MARCH 1999

Here's wat tyme it is in Dallus, Texus wear I live:

Hi, Everybudy! This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin and I bet U can tell frum the musik called The Wearin of the Green and the pitcher at the top that the speshul day called St. Patrick's Day is going to happen in March. It is going 2 kum on Wednesday the 7teenth and is a day that peples frum Irishland celebrate by marchin in parades and having parties and drinkin green beer and wearin green clothes and stuff like that. I didn't have no green clothes 2 wear 4 getting a pitcher taken but my man found the pitcher of an Irishland man singin the song that you kan hear playin. He sed it wuld be propriate and besides everybudy nose by now wat I luk lyke anyhow.

Here's an animalulation of a parade marchin Irishland girl all dressed up in her marchin suit. I shure wuld lyke 2 C one of these marchin parades up close. I'm not much good at marchin but I shure culd tap my feet and clap my hands wen the marchin bands and peples cum bye me.

My man sed that one time he went 2 sumpn kalled an Irish Fair wear there wus all kinds of gud food 2 eat and beer 2 drink and lots of peples singin Irishland songs and playin Irishland musik on the fiddle like in this pitcher. My man sed it wus a reel fun thing but it kost him purty much 2 get in and then 2 buy sumpn 2 eat and 2 drink. That was a purty long tyme ago before he started takin me playces. I bet I wuld have had a gud tyme at an Irish Fair.

Back in Irishland in the old timey days peples believed that there was sumpn kalled lepercorns living there. I luked lepercorn up in Mr. Websters big wurd buk and it sed that it wus a mischievous elf, usually in the form of an old man, who,it is believed, will reveal where treasure is hidden if caught. I shure wuld lyke 2 katch a lepercorn and make him tell me where there wus sum gud treasure. But I guess if I did get sum treasure the inkum tax man wuld kum take away most of it.

Here's a pitcher of a lepercorn that sumbudy drew. He luks sort of lyke my man's daddy cept he didn't have red hair on his face but he smoked a pipe jist like the lepercorn. But I guess he wusn't a lepercorn cus he shure never told anyone wear there wus sum treshur.

Mr. Webster sed that lepercorns cum frum sumpn called Irish folklore and my man sed that means that maybe lepercorns are just make believe stories. Well, maybe so, but I'm going to keep my eyes open for a lepercorn anyway.

If you want to know all about who Mr. St. Patrick really wus, then you klick on this little bear and he will take you to a place where you can reed all abowt who he wus. He wus a purty interestin man who did lots of reel gud things 4 peoples in Irishland and I guess that's why they keep selabratin his speshul day.

Well, March will be over B4 u know it and then kums April. I guess I better start thinkin abowt wat 2 rite abowt April. I've been lukin at the kalendar on the wall and see that it's going to be Easter time so maybe I can write about that. This kalendar I luk at has a special flower for every month. The one for this month is a Daffodil. The one for April is the Sweetpea. I don't know wat a sweetpea flower luks lyke but maybe I can find a pitcher of one B4 next month.

Note: If you have a sound card but didn't hear music it is probably because you do not have the appropriate MIDI plug ins. Download Crescendo from www.liveupdate.com.
