Maybe you member I rote about going to that program last year. Well, lots of the same childruns were there this tyme and it shure wus gud 2 C sum of them agin. This is a pitcher of Miss Catherine holding me agin.
One of the patriotic things the childruns did wus tell the
bigraphy of sum of the first ladies like Martha Washington and Dolly
Madison and Lady Bird Johnson. Miss Catherine told all about Laura Bush.
Miss Catherine is standing in front of a couple of the projects
that the childrun had done. Durin the meetin they were shown off and
talked about. Here's one of the projects.
A reel interestin thing in this CAR meetin wus wen they
did a flag decommissioning. Wat this wus wus showin how an old and dirty
and torn up flag should be destroyed in a respectable manner. Did you
know that instead of just throwin an old flag in the fire you ought to
cut each stripe off the flag and say the name of the state of the Unity
States that it wus for before putting it in the fire. Then wen all that
is left is the blue part of the flag it is folded up real neat and put
on top of the stripes. My man's gud frend Miss Elizabeth who tuk us to
the meetin and nose all abowt these things sed that sumtymes each white
star is cut out of the blue.
The children didn't have a real fire 2 burn the flag in but sed
they wuld do it later on. It wus reel impessive 2 C how they did this
flag cuttin up. Here's the childrun holdin the flag and cuttin the stripes
off.
One of the entertainment things wus 3 of the girls tap
dancin 2 the patriotic song Stars and Stripes forever. They did reel gud,
too. You can C them doin it in this pitcher.
Here's a pitcher off all the CAR childrun that were there.
Miss Dorothy, the regent of the JANE DOUGLAS CHAPTER, NSDAR is on the
left and Mr. Robert Coursey is on the right. He is the president of the
CAR Senior Society. Can you see the lady holdin the litle baby?. The
baby is there cus she wus jist made a CAR member.
The best part of goin to meetins at the JANE DOUGLAS CHAPTER,
NSDAR is the eatin part cus they always have lots of good cookies and cake
and little sandwiches and punch stuff. Here is a pitcher of the purty
table and sum of the goodies.
I gotta tell you that I did sumpn else purty interestin the
day of the CAR meetin. I went 2 Sunday School 4 the furst time ever.
I went there with my man cus that is wear we had 2 meet Miss Eelizabeth
who wus takin us to the DAR house. She is the president of this Sunday
School class and I know purty many of the members cus I go to lots of
their parties with my man. Mr. Noel is the teacher man and he told a reel
interestin Bible story about a purty lady named Ruth frum a far away country
who had 2 wurk in the fields pickin cotton and a rich man named Boaz who
owned all the cotton and wus reel kind to her and Mr. Noel talked about
how importunt it
is 4 us 2 be kind to everybudy. It shure wus interestin.
Next month I kan tell U abowt goin 2 C the museum in
Abilene.
