HERE'S A RITIN FRUM

FOR MARCH 2001

Hi, Evrybudy!

Guess wat! My man is jist like me now cus he has 2 glass eyes jist like I du. He sed his cataract surjury wurked reel gud and he kan see clear to the moon now. He got a little card from the doctor man that sez what kind of eye he has and even wat cereal number it has on it. I don't have no numbers on my eyes.

That is Miss Colleen holdin me and the pitcher wus tuk by my man with his ditchital kamra wen we went 2 sumpn kalled a George Washington Tea. This wus sponsored by The Children of the American Revolution, David Pendleton Society and Miss Colleen is the Presidunt of it. Here's three more pitchers that my man tuk.

You kan C in the first pitcher that my man kut my hed off but he wus just mostly tryin 2 get the words on the red table. The secund pitcher is Miss Catherine who wus one of the CAR childrun who wus duin the program. The third pitcher is all the childrun after they did their program standing with Miss Dorothy who is the Regent of the Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR. It wus the DAR members who sponsored this gud program about American history that the childrun give. Here is wat wus on the program. Invocation, Flag Presentation (Miss Catherine did that), Pledge of Allegiance, Salute to the Texas Flag, CAR Creed (a creed us sumpn u believe in), National Anthem, Greetings by Miss Colleen. Her pitcher is at the top of the page.

Then sum more of the program wus readings by the childruns about historical events and peples like American Revolution women and Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin and the Korean War and Mr. Karl give a little talk about his ancestor and wus all dressed up in Davy Crockett clothes carrying a big shootin gun. My man didn't get a gud pitcher of him.

Then 3 of the girls pretended to be the Andrews Sisters who were reel poplar singers back during the war time and did singin and dancin 4 the soljers. Heres the girls duin a Andrews Sisters dance.

After the dancin Miss Jamie who is the Presidunt of the Texas Society CAR give a little talk about State Projects. Miss Jamie is the purty lady in the pink dress standin next to Miss Colleen in this pitcher.

The last part of the program wus all the childruns marching around singing the CAR song. Here is sum of the words to the C.A.R. song: We’re members of the C.A.R., A great and mighty band. We pledge our might for the cause of right, For home and native land. We love thee Old Glory And we ever strive to be Most worthy descendants of worthy ancestry. We love thee Old Glory And our hearts are staunch and true. We love each stripe and ev’ry star Of our flag red, white and blue.

After the children's program was all dun Miss Dorothy sed sum wurds about how glad she wus to see evrybudy and then she told abowt me bein there and how I rite stories and everybudy shuld cum say hi to me. Then we got 2 eat little sandwiches and sum cake and sum cookies and drink sum reel good punch stuff. I don't know why they kalled this a Tea cus they didn't have no Tea at all. But I guess kallin it a tea party sounded better than callin it a punch party. Anyway, it shure wus fun and I'm shure glad me and my man get invited 2 go. Here's a pitcher of the table with all the gud eatin stuff on it. Miss Dorothy is the lady with the kamra.

I don't have no American Revolution clothes to wear so I wore my Mexican Revolution sarape and big sombrero. My man sez he will try to find me sumpn more patriotic to wear 4 the next time we go to the DAR meetins.
