This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin in January but I have to pretend it is February cus that's wen U will get 2 reed my ritin. Sew, Happy Valumtyme's day 2 U frum me and my man. I hope U get lots of purty Valumtyme cards sayin nice things like You Are My Valumtyme.
The musik U r hearin is sumpn called "My funny valumtyme" and I thot it wus goin 2 be a real funny song, but instead it is sort of a luv song. My man sed he thinks it shure is purty.
Do you member way back in August of last year I rote a ritin about the Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR and how I thought that DAR meant sumpn like Divide All Riches, but found out that it meant Daughters of the American Resolution? Then in Decembur I guess it was that I rote another ritin about how me and my man went to the DAR House that luked lyke Mt. Vernon 2 tymes 2 work there during the State Fair of Texus. That sure wus fun.
Well, guess wat. My man and me wus invited 2 go 2 a regular meetin of the Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR. I didn't go but my man did cus his gud frend Miss Elizabeth is a DAR lady and he lykes to go places with her. Well, he sed he had a real gud tyme cus after the bizyness meetin where peples gave reports and things there was a man dressed up in old timey soldjer clothes who give sumpn called A REPORT TO GENERAL WASHINGTON. He wus pretending to be a Kernel in General Washington's Army who cum 2 tell him jist how bad things were in the army cus it wus winter tyme and the soljers didn't have no shoes or hardly any thing to eat and it wus purty bad 4 these soljers who were fitin the English Red Coat soljers. My man sed that wus reel interestin wat this man sed and then there wus a lady playin purty musik on a harp and another lady who did sum singin with the harp lady and then there wus cookies and cake and stuff like that to eat. I'm sorta sorry I decided not to go.
Well, wen my man wus telling me abowt goin 2 this meeting he sed it wus sorta funny cus it seemed that everything these DAR ladies do is so they will get sumpn kalled A CREDIT from the Head office people of the NSDAR. If the Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR ladies du sumpn patriotic like givin away little flags they get a Credit for it. If they help sum lady find who her relations were sew she kan see if she can be a DAR lady, then they get credit for duin this. And did you no that these DAR ladies even get a credit or sumpn 4 me mentioning them in this ritin? It is kalled publicity or sumpn like that but it don't count 4 a credit unless I rite Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR in the ritin. That's so peoples who reed my ritin will no jist zactly who I'm talking about.
I don't really no wat the credit that they get is. I don't think it is a ribbon lyke I won at the Fair one tyme, and I'm pretty sure a credit isn't a plak lyke I got once 4 being a good riter. But my man sed that at this DAR meeting Miss Dorothy, the head lady who is called a regent, wus givin out lots of pieces of paper called Certificuts 2 ladies who had dun lots of helpin out with projeks. Sew maybe those were credits and maybe the JANE DOUGLAS CHAPTER NSDAR gets a bigger certificut that sez sumpn lyke ATTA BOY, LADIES!
My man sez he is purty shure we'll get invited 2 go 2 the DAR meetins agin sumtyme and 4 shure get 2 go work 4 them durin the fair this year. Sew, maybe we can find out more abowt wat a Credit is.
Guess wat, evrybudy. Abowt the time U R readin this ritin of mine my man will be layin on a table in a hospital place getting a new eye. It is sumpn kalled cataract surjury and he had it done 2 his rite eye maybe about ten years ago. Now he is duin it 2 his left eye. He saz it is No Big Deal and I guess he is rite cus I had 2 have 2 new eyes a long time ago and it didn't hurt hardly at all.
