Hi, Evrybudy!
This is Old Bear ritin 2 u for the furst tyme in the year 2006. The 2005 year ended up reely gud cus I got
to have my pitcher taken with The Andrews Sisters. Du U member them? They were gud singin ladies who did radio show
singing and went travelin all over the wurld wear soljers were fitin sew they culd sing them songs and make the soljers
not feel sew bad about being a long way frum home fitin a war against the bad peoples. My man sed he got to have a visit
with Mel Torme once. Mr. Torme was a singer man who peoples called The Velvet Smog cus of the way he sung. He rote a
reel purty Christmus song.
It isn't reely the Andrews Sisters in the pitcher at the top but 3 ladies who dress up to look lyke them and then go
place to du songs like the Andrews sisters did. The playce wear I herd them du their singin was at the Christmus Party at
the JANE DOUGLAS CHAPTER of THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN RESOLUTION. They have a party every year and me and my man get
invited cus we du sum wurk for them during the State fair of Texus and my man takes pitchers for them to put in sumpn called
a scrapbook.
Every year at the Christmus Party they have a special program after they do the pledgin of allegiance to the US flag and
to the Texus flag and du sum other business things. It wus the pretend Andrews sisters who were the program peoples this
tyme and they sure were gud singers and reel nyce too.
My man tuk his kamra like he usually dus and went around takin pitchers of most everybudy who wus there. He sez he
tried not to skip anybudy but maybe he did. This year there were a hole lot of people there and sevrul were joining the
Jane Douglas Chapter of DAR and sum others were just visiting from lots of places around the country. Miss Estelle wus
one of the visitors who had belonged to the DAR when she had lived in Tennessee. I'll show U most of the pitchers he
tuk and maybe tell u a little bit about them.
Here are sum of the peoples who cum to the DAR House early lyke me and my man and Miss Elizabeth did. They jist sat
around and talked and got acquainted. That's Miss Sarah Coursey in the red sweater and her husband. They like to travel
lots of places and Mr. Coursey told my man about takin a cruise lyke I did once and goin on the bus to intrestin places.
In the pitcher showing me sittin I had to move frum there purty soon cus it got all covered up with cookies and other good
things to eat.
Miss Carolyn cum to the Dar house purty early sew she had tyme to play sum patriotical songs on the piano. Miss
Carolyn is a gud piano player and knows a hole lot of patriotical kinds of songs. I don't know wat the litle girl's name
wus but she wus reel gud all the tyme we were there. I'm purty shure that Mr. Marshall, sittin beside her, is her
grandfather. It wusn't very long before other Dar ladies kum and I guess evry one brought sumpn gud to eat with them cus
this wus goin 2 be a reel party day. The men who cum with the DAR ladies are called sumpn like HODARs that means Husband of
a DAR lady. My man is called a HODAR too cept since he don't have no wife it means HELPER instead of Husband.
This wus one of the first ladies that kum 2 the party.
Here is Miss Mary talkin 2 her grandaughter. That is Mr. Wes sittin beside the little girl.
Miss Mary is showing off her granddaughter to the Regent of the Jane Douglas Chapter of the DAR.
Here are sum DAR ladies jist kumin in and puttin their party food on the table and the other place where I wus sittin.
This is the front table where all the DAR oficer ladies sit and do their meeting stuff.. They didn't do much meeting
stuff this tyme cus it wus a party day. But the rules sed they had to give sum speshul ones.
Mr. Wes is getting instructions about how to wurk the sound frum one of the Andews Sisters.
Another one of the Andrews Sisters is talkin to the DAR regent and Mr. Wes.
Miss Mary is showing off her granddaughter to the Regent of the Jane Douglas Chapter of the DAR.
Shure luks lyke they are getting ready to have the meeting stuff.
Mr. Wes is lukin over the microphones with the main Andrews Sister.
Be4 they kan du their singin they have to test the microphones by saying test .. Test .. Test.
These 3 ladies sat across frum me and my man but didn't say nuthin to us. I think they were guests.
The lady holding the papers is reeding sumthin out 4 all the DAR Ladies to here.
Here the 3 Andrews Sisters are duin the singing. They sung speshul songs that they knew the reel Andrews Sister sung like
Don't sit under the apple tree and Sisters. But they also sung some other songs like this one about umbudy reely ugly.
I forgot 2 tell u that before the singin started evrybudy give the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and then to
the Texus Flag. Then the tallest Andrews Sister sang a patriotic song and then Miss Bennie give sum reports. The last
song thqt the Andrews Sisters sung was the O Say Kan U C song. And then the DAR Regent lady sed that the meetin wus over
and evrybudy culd go eat. U kan C that we sure did du that. And there sure wus a lot of gud stuff to eat and some nyce
punch to drink. It wus a reel gud DAR meetin and I hope we get to go to another one purty quick.

Note: If you have a sound card but didn't hear music it is probably because you do not have the appropriate MIDI plug ins. Download Crescendo from www.liveupdate.com.
