Hi, Evrybudy!
This is Old Bear ritin 2 U agin 2 tell U wat a gud trip me and my man had goin 2 Nu
York City and that is a pitcher of me in a real fancy restrunt that I'll be tellin u abowt.
We had 2 meet 40 other peoples sew my man' s alarm clock woke us up at 2 in the
morning cus a taxi wus supposed to cum pick us up at 4 in the morning to take us to the church
where we were goin 2 leave frum to go to the airport. The cab kum purty much on tyme sew we
were the firstust ones to get 2 the church on time. Then the other peoples who were goin to
New York City kum and purty soon the bus kum and we all got on it and left at 5am to go to the
airport.
My man had been worried about me goin through the secuirty checks sew he put me
inside his karry on bag to ryde through the xray machine and wen I got through okay he tuk
me out. Here are sum of us sittin and waitin 4 our airplayne trip to start.
U kan tell everybudy wus purty sleepy but we didn't have 2 wait very long.
Mr. Steve who duz the trip plannin had got everybudy tickts on Continental Airlines.
We rode on a 737 airplane and as soon as we got in the air it was eatin time. Everybudy who
wanted it got a bowl of cereal with milk and sumpn to drink, like coffee or orange juice.
Later on my man asked one of the helper ladies to get the airplayne driver to rite how far
we were goin in my log book and she tuk it 2 him. He made shure that we knew we were goin to
Liberty airport instead of wat was kalled Newark airport 2 years ago. There were 3 helper
ladies on this airplayne and I got 2 have my pitcher taken with all 3 of them. Hee I am with
them in the airplayne's kitchen.
They shure were nyce and their names were Val and Chris and Karen cept I didn't find out
what purty lady went with wat name. But my man got their e-mail addresses for me.
My man tuk a kuple of pictures throgh the window wen we were flyin way above the clouds and I got 2
visit with sum peoples on the airplayne. I shure du lyke to take flyin trips.
Wen we landed at Liberty airport a bus wus there to meet us and wen we got all our bags
loaded Mr. Ernie, the driver, tuk us to our hotel wear we wuld be stayin. Here we are leaving
Liberty airport.
Lyke mostly happens nobody's room wus ready wen we got 2 the hotle sew we had tyme 2 go eat sum lunch. I went with
my man and Miss Elizabeth and Miss Phyllis and Miss Dixie across the street to the Olympic
that wus wear we
had eaten 2 years before and it wus jist like it was then. It was wat sum peoples might kall a
hole-in-the-wall, but it wus a gud place to eat. Here's a pitcher of the Olympic Restaurant and
the waitin lady who wus laffin cus she wus holdin me and sum other peoples were laffin at her
holdin me.
After we got through eatin our lunch it wus almost time to go 2 our rooms. Me and my man
had one on the 11th floor and it had a microwave and a frigolater amd a coffee pot and other
trip peoples were jealouws cus they didn't have all those things.
The peoples who went to NYC on the Continental airplayne mostly had 2 gud reasons 4
goin. The 1st gud reason was 2 C sum Brpadway Shows. The 2nd gud reason wus 2 go shoppin.
Another gus reason wus 2 eat dinners at fancy restaurants.
Where we ate dinner on Tuesday was Pigalle but I thought it wus bein kalled Pig Alley.
It was part of the hotel where we were sew
we didn't have to walk very far. After dinner we walked a few blocks to the St. James Theaer
to see The Producer.
It wus reel funny and my man got 2 hear the song he likes from that show .. Springtime for
Hitler. After the show we all walked to Rockyfeller Center to see the
big Christmus tree that wus on televishun wen they lighted it up. Here is my man and me and
Miss Elizabeth standin across the street frum the Christmas tree.
On the way back to the hotel we saw lots of purty lights and interesting things. Here's two of them.
We talked abowt maybe goin 2 Central Park and gettin a carriage ride like we saw on the street
but we never did cus we got busy doin other things
Wednesday wus wat wus kalled a free day with nuthin planned. Miss Elizabeth wanted
to go to Grand Central Station cus there were lots of little shoppin places there. My man
sed we wuld go 2 cus we had never been to Grand Central Station. Sew we waved at a taxi cab
and the driver man stopped and tuk us to Grand Central Station. It shure wus purty there and
we went in and out of sum of the little stores and then walked back to the hotel. Here's sum of the
things we saw wen we were at Grand Central Station.
It wus a
purty long walk but reel interestin. On the way back we saw this man dressed like a candy bar
and it wus fun 2 get my pitcher tuk with him. Then we went into the candy store 2 buy sum candy.
Our dinner on Wednesday night was at The View, a restaurant real high up in a Marriot
Hotel and wus one that turned around real slow sew U culd see a hole lot of Nu York City.
My man sed this wuld be a dress up dinner sew I wore my Tuxedo that I wore to Samantha's
wedding last year. It wus a reel fancy eatin playce and I lyked 2 luk out and see wat NYC luked
lyke frum way up high like we were. Here's pitchers of jist abowt all the peoples who were on
our trip.
After eatin we had to walk a few blocks to the Neil Simon Theater to see the show
called Hair Spray.
It wusn't as funny as The Producers but had a lot of dancing people in purty clothes and wus
jist real purty. Sum peoples thought the music wus 2 loud, but my man sed he lyked it and
might get the CD thing sumtyme.
Thursday morning it wus rainin when Mr. John cum to the hotel with the bus and tuk us
all on a site-seeing tour of Nu York City. It wus purty much lyke the one we had 2 years ago but this time Ground
Zero, where the 2 buildings fell down, wus cleaned up a hole lot. Mr. John is a real gud
tour guide and everybody clapped when we got back 2 the hotel. Here's jist a couple of things we saw.
After the tour the rain had mostly stopped and we had maybe 4 hours to rest or go lookin
at things. Me and my man and Miss Elizabeth and Miss Phyllis and Miss Dixi went to a Deli for
lunch and then walked a long way on 5th avenue to see sum of the fancy stores and purty
decorations. My man sed that this wus more fun than walkn on his treadmill.
About 5 o'clock everybody got together 4 the walk to Barbettas Restaurant. We had
2 walk down from the sidewalk to get inside but it wus real purty wen we got inside. Here I
am sittin on a fancy piano in the parlor and the other is of a man playin a diffrunt piano in
the dining room.
We all got to sit at round tables like Miss Lucy and Mr. Steve and Miss Connie are duin here.
It wus real nice.
Here are sum of the other trip peoples sittin at these round tables eatin their dinners.
After we ate our dinners at Barbettas we walked sum more to the Ambassador Theater to
see Chicago.
We had real gud seats at the other 2 shows but we got 2 sit in the very front row when we saw
the Chicago play. My man sed this wus the first tyme he culd look at a singers tonsils.
He sure did lyke sitting that close to the dancin girls who didn't have a lot of clothes on.
Friday wus our leavin day sew we had 2 get our bags all packed by 8 in the morning and
get sumpn to eat. Then I sed goodbye 2 the ladies in the hotel.
Then Mr. Ernie cum with the bus 2 take us to Radio City Music Hall where we
wuld see The Christmus Show. Maybe you member that I rote about that 2 years ago wen they made
me go through the x-ray machine cus they thought I had sumpn danjerous inside me. This tyme
nobudy stopped me cept a man at the door sed he wuld lyke me to go home with him.
The Christmus show is purty much the same every year but has sum diffurnt things every year.
It shure wus purty this tyme and I specially lyked the big Teddy Bears who cum out and did a
dance. My man speshully lyked the Rocket Dancers wen they pretended they were reindeers
hooked up to Santa's sleigh. The Radio City Music Hall is real big and real purty. Here is
a pitcher of a statue in the lounge and wear they were selling xpensive candy and
suvineers that my man didn't buy any of. The only suvineer that he bought was a hat that says New
York City on it. U kan see peoples leavin after the show wus over.
After we saw the Christmus Show we got back on the bus and Mr. Ernie tuk us to a
restaurant called Marchi's for lunch. It wus in a real purty old house and here's a pitcher of
a real purty fireplace that wus in our dinin room.
Marchi's had opened early special for us sov we were the only ones eatin and we had a big 5
course meal that wus too much for most peoples to eat, but my man sed it wus really gud.
We culdn't stay 4 coffee or tea cus we ate so long we had to hurry to get to the airport
before the Lincoln Tunnel got filled with goin home frum work cars. Mr. Ernie did
a reel gud job of drivin and everyone clapped wen we got back to Liberty airport in Newark
New Jersey.
We were cumin home on a Continental Airlines 737 agin but Miss Val and Miss Chris and
Miss Karen weren't the helper ladies this time. I didn't find out wat their names were but
one was from France and got my log book signed and the other one was frum El Salvador.
They were pretty busy all the way to Dallus sew my man didn't get 2 take their pitchers.
My man wus reel grumpy about goin 2 New York City in winter time
especially when they had 48 inches of snow just the day before we left. But it turned out reel
nyce. Not very cold, just a little rain. And my man sed he had a gud tyme and we can go next
tyme if I want 2 go. I shure du . I lyke taking trips.
