Hi, Evrybudy!
This is Old Bear ritin 2 U 4 the first time in the nu year of 2000. It sure seems funny to rite that number. My man says it is a nu sensury, too. I`m not 2 shure wat that means but I guess it is sumpn purty portant. He says it is the twenty-furst sensury.
The musik U ought 2 Be hearin is sumpn kalled a New Year's Medley and my man thot it purty propriate even if it is abowt the peples frum China havin their nu year's parties. It sounds sumpn lyke fire krackers goin off, doesn't it?
Did U have a gud Christmus tyme with lots of presunts frum Sandy Claws. We didn't du a hole lot cept my man got invited out 2 Christmus dinner and he sed that wus reel nyce cus there were some other naybor peples there. My man is purty much a bah humbug man sew we never get no christmus tree or christmus lites lyke other peples du sew Sandy Claws hardly ever can find our house and leave us presents.
But that wus okay cus my aunt Judy who rites the Windy In Indy stories for my man's magazine sent us a big box with sum nyce preseunts in it and one wus a reel big bar of chokolate candy. Then she sent us another big box that had a big jar filled with some smell gud stuff called sumpn like pottie poorie. And inside the big jar with the pottie poorie wus a string of purty Christmus tyme lites and a thing my man culd plug in the wall and the lites lit up and made the pottie poorie stuff smell real good. My man sed he sure hoped the neighbors didn't go into shock wen they saw Merry Christmus lites in our front window.
We used to have a Christmus tree here but then some of the kitties started climbing on top of it and making it fall down and breaking sum of the purty things on it so my man sed either the trees go or the cats go ... well, the kitties staid so you know where the tree went.
I member back wen me and my man were purty young there wuld always be a Christmus tree and my gramma wuld bake cookies with strings in them 2 hang on the Christmus tree. A dog named Scrappy lived with us in those days and he lyked gramma's cookies reel gud. Sew she always put maybe a dozen or maybe more cookies on the lowest tree branches and Scrappy new he culd eat those anytyme he wanted 2. But he nu he better not eat any cookies from higher up. It wus purty funny 2 watch Scrappy eatin cookies off the tree.
The mailman brought us sum reel purty Merry Christmus kards. My Aunt Mary and Uncle Jerry sent us one that has a pitcher of a Christmus tree and sum teddy bears sort of like me and wen yu open up the kard to reed it U hear Merry Christmus music. That sure wus excitin 2 get a kard that plays musik.
Du U member how once in a wile I rite abowt my good frend Kaycee who lives in Colorado who I met in March of 1995 wen my man and me were on the train cumin frum Calforny to Denver? Well, I got a Thinking of You at Christmas kard from her and she rote a nice note 4 me to reed. She told me that she's in sixth grade now and still getting A and B grades but sixth grade is purty hard cus her homework is purty tuff 2 du sew she has 2 stay up late 2 du it and she`s got dances to go to and fights to get into and things like that that keep her purty busy.
She lykes animals purty gud cus she sed she has 4 kats named Spoor, Kalamazoo, Allie and Tompkin. (Kalamazoo is a town in Michigan and I think that's where I was borned.) Her daddy must lyke animals 2 cus Kaycee sed that he's got an elk with 5 points. I wonder where he keeps it cus my man sez that elks are purty big. Maybe he keeps it in the back yard. Kaycee sed that there is a moose on their wall. I shure don't know how animals lyke that kan get on walls, but then I don't know very much about mooses or elks.
Kaycee lives where it snows a lot and she sed it wus snowin wen she rote the Christmus kard letter 2 me. I member how purty it wus wen the train we were on stopped at her town. It wasn't snowy tyme then but I bet her town luks like a Christmus kard pitcher wen it snows. I think I member her saying in one of her letters that she lykes 2 go skeeing wen it is snow tyme.
It shure wus gud 2 hear frum Kaycee and no she is duin gud in skool.
I've been reel lucky to have such gud frends as kaycee and Samantha and Miss Sally Pearl who rite me letters and Mr. and Mrs. Chuck and sum others who send me e-mails. Maybe I'm not 2 shure wat a new sensury is but I sure hope it is as good 2 me as the old sensury wus.
